Scholarly Interests
My research focuses on identity formation through information behavior especially in fandom and fan works. I am especially interested in the intersections of gender and fandom participation. I am also interested in how non-scholarly information behavior can inform anti-oppressive information literacy pedagogy.
My previous work has focused on the materiality of gender expression/performance on social media and art historical approaches to print culture studies in Latin America in the 1920s. While material culture and social media/internet performance remain areas of interest, they have taken more of a backseat.
